Michigan State University's ILLIDAN Lab is partnered with Tencent, JD-dot-com, and DiDi, who are indisputably based in China, making apparent that data is traveling to and from these Mainland companies from the U.S.-based ILLIDAN Lab.
The thing about these companies is they are on Beijing's China Telecom backbone, which has been banned by the U.S. government, citing national security and spying concerns.

This video is allegedly from inside Google's headquarters in Beijing, China. Regardless of the interior footage, the video clearly shows the exterior of the Google headquarters in Raycom Infotech Park in 2009.

Beijing has had to step in with Google before, to MAKE SURE that their data flowed through Beijing's China Telecom backbone.

Nearby Raycom Infotech Park is Tsinghua University's own Tuspark, complete with intellectual property exchanges and incubators for university research.

The only thing about Tsinghua University is that it is not only partnered with Zhejiang University and also another "C9 League" (China's "Ivy League") school, but is also among those schools listed by the FBI for be a risk for espionage and IP theft.

Here is a video from Youtube of a day spent at Tsinghua University and Tuspark in Beijing, China. Around the 11:55 mark, the camera pans over Tuspark.
Bear in mind that Tsinghua University is the epicenter of the urban development template being integrated into the West with "smart cities," or "15-minute cities," wherein everything is heavily monitored, regulated, and enforced with impunity.
Why is it "The Capital" doesn't appear to implement much of the same environmental regulations (smog) and appears to manage its massive population with ease, in comparison with the United States?
And where are all the graffiti, barred windows, street fights, tent cities, and obesity!?
