"In ILLIDAN Lab, our main research theme is : enhancing decision making for data science through establishing the closed-loop flow of informatics among key components of human, data, and analytics. To achieve this goal, we design generalizable, privacy-preserving/fair, robust, and interpretable machine learning algorithms for supporting trustworthy AI systems, especially in health informatics and other scientific areas.
ILLIDAN Lab is currently funded by the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, Office of Naval Research, and multiple industry partners."

From Zhou's Curriculum Vitae:
-Graduate of Beijing Jiaotong university in Beijing.
-Worked for PhD under Dr. Jieping Ye, a very well-connected professor (next)
-After joining Michigan State University, Zhou was named professor in their Media and Information school
-Zhou remained at Arizona State up until moving to Michigan State
-Zhou was a research intern at Microsoft Research Asia under Lionel Ni, another former MSU professor, and (who I call in my narrow purview) the father of big data computing

Dr. Jieping Ye
☑️Graduate of PLA-linked Fudan University
☑️University of Michigan since Jan 2015
☑️Arizona State University 2005-2014
☑️Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
☑️Vice President and Chief Scientist at Beike Biotech in China since Sep 2020
☑️Vice President at DiDi - the "Uber" of China from Oct 2015 - Sep 2020

At Michigan, Jieping Ye employees the use of the MALSAR framework. MALSAR is the software developed by Jiayu Zhou, himself.

A contemporary talent pipeline run by Zhejiang University, itself, called AZKEF was headed by an Univ. of Arizona professor, Fei-Yue Wang. One of its members, Yizhou Yu (next) was also a professor that completed the closed talent circuit to China.

9/ This is significant because former MSU professor Lionel Ni, who developed essentially the entire backbone for cloud computing and "Big Data," was leading a Key Lab at Microsoft Research Asia at the time that both Yizhou Yu and Jiayu Zhou were making their lap through the program.
Also notable, Lionel Ni was responsible for growing the new (at the time) Hong Kong University of Science and Technology into the Big Data research powerhouse that it is today - where University of Michigan professor Dr. Jieping Ye is also associated.
Fok Ying Tung Graduate School is highlighted here because it was established by long-time CPPCC member, Dr. Jonathan KS Choi, a driving force of the development of all of China.

One of Jiayu Zhou's papers while at Samsung Research America titled, "Who, What, When, and Where: Multi-Dimensional Collaborative Recommendations Using Tensor Factorization on Sparse User-Generated Data" focused on aggregating data from all types of sources, across all users, to generated AI-developed "recommendations" to help users make choices based upon them.
"Given the abundance of online information available to mobile users, particularly tourists and weekend travelers, recommender systems that effectively filter this information and suggest interesting participatory opportunities will become increasingly important...
...Thus, systems that provide collaborative recommendations involving multiple dimensions such as location, activities and time would enhance the overall experience of users...
...In this paper, we present a system and an approach for performing multidimensional collaborative recommendations for Who (User), What (Activity), When (Time) and Where (Location), using tensor factorization on sparse user-generated data.
We evaluate our system and approach on large-scale real world data sets consisting of 588,000 Flickr photos collected from three major metro regions in USA..."

According to its own white paper, the ILLIDAN Lab focuses on Artificial General Intelligence using sensitive personal data, and deploys algorithms that serve as a framework to apply principles of "Affirmative Action" into all of its findings - a process that inherently applies subjective degrees of inherent bias in order to achieve - while ILLIDAN works toward incorporating its AI analytics to process information from completely unrelated systems on the same network "backbone."
In simpler terms - the ILLIDAN Lab researches ways to implement the UN's Agenda 2030 into every system it touches.

According to my insanely overpriced Crunchbase subscription, JD-dot-com's leading investors include a slew of recognizable name like Sequoia Capital (China branch), Google, and Walmart.
Also shown as a leading investor is the Ontario Teachers Pension plan.
GGV Capital and Tiger Global Management each also invested in a Mainland company called "Authing," which is a full one-to-one replacement for the data authenticating company Okta and launched in 2019.

Okta is important because it is the authentication service that was used on Konnech's Pollchief election management system software. (Look in the top left, highlighted in yellow)
This singular discovery of LA County's future Pollchief plan is what began this line of inquiry a full year ago.

This is a list of some of the academic partnerships that the ILLIDAN Lab utilizes for its research.
The schools boxed in red are universities in which I have discovered red flag links through potential talent and intellectual property pipelines connecting back to Mainland China and CCP/PLA-linked programs or universities.

Don't forget Yizhou Zhou, a Zhejiang University graduate who was also a part of the school's US-facing alumni association (ZUEF in short), and left the States as this lab was beginning operation. https://t.co/pQ5W1l33lQ

As most of my others, this will be a living thread and will grow with more things that connect.
This is the bulk overview of this lab, but there is plenty of research that has gone through this lab that could connect dots for other researchers.
PLEASE USE MY FINDINGS TO PLUG INTO YOURS (but don't leave my info on an island either!)

The University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign has a direct partnership with Zhejiang University, who also hosts the aforementioned talent pipeline - AZKEF/ZUEF.
This alliance often hosts events and spearheads joint-projects between the universities.

A partnership with any "C9 League" university, and specifically Zhejiang and Tsinghua Universities, comes with an enormous list of national security implications in regards to espionage and intellectual property theft (absorption is a better word).

The University of Illinois-Champaign has not only shared an institute with Zhejiang University, who above is explicitly labeled a threat through the Thousand Talents Program, but also offers dual degree programs in computer science in a department funded by the U.S. taxpayers.
American citizens' tax dollars are helping the PLA learn how to manipulate our AI systems against us while we build it all together.
Isn't that somethin'!?
(Sauce in next tweet)

If I'm interpreting this translation from a 2017 newsletter correctly, the program accepts students from many universities in China, funneled through Zhejiang and into this upper-tier public U.S. university, involved in critical and sensitive research.… https://t.co/nvbQ0XVf1l

28/ This completes another full circuit between AZKEF/ZUEF/ZUAA - the Zhejiang University Education Foundation/Alumni Association.
This held open a backchannel for intellectual property to/from the same Big Data programs under Feiyue Wang, Xipeng Xiao, and Lionel Ni's purviews, all of whom I've touched on before.
This begins a focused thread on some of the key takeaways from that parallel timeline, already in progress.
