A local rock show in Charlotte, North Carolina this past weekend left a brazen reminder to all across the Old North State and the United States: The corrupt establishment’s enchantment with the Communist Party isn’t just limited to the Research Triangle anymore.

EDITOR’S NOTE: If the reader is unfamiliar with the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, it is crucially important to this story to understand. Including the fallout of the revolution, some historians estimate over 20 million people died as a result. Following Mao’s Cultural Revolution in China, estimates say 1-2 million were killed with tens of millions institutionally persecuted for their beliefs.

Maoists in the Queen City

The Maoist Communist Union’s Charlotte chapter left a stack of flyers at Charlotte’s renowned rock dungeon fortress, The Milestone Club, encouraging patrons to attend their meeting at 2101 Shenandoah Ave. in Charlotte, just footsteps from the hip and trendy Plaza Midwood district.

Watershed Charlotte is located at the address, and owns the building, formerly the Queen City Montessori. Watershed Charlotte has and continues to lease space out of the former Charlotte Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church building1.

Who are the Maoist Communist Union?

The Maoist Communist Union’s literature gives a stark and unfiltered look into these particular fundamentalists’ revolutionary mindset, complete with establishing Bolshevism as a central tenet to their quest toward power.

Their flyer (top) emphasized their departure from the American Democrat party. As with nearly all socialist-communist and “liberation” movements, they rely heavily on coordinating between their factions and pooling their “human capital” as one movement.

This tactic plasters onto every protest and event an inherent perception publicly — especially for cameras — of popular consensus.

Maoist-Leninist-Marxist fundamentalism

Under MCU’s bullet 2) in the group’s self-report2 on developing their “political line”, they specifically lay out their goal on page 10:

“Our early efforts to grow were fairly experimental, as we tried to identify different openings for getting involved in various struggles and related opportunities to recruit and develop new cadre. “

MCU’s interpretation of “Bolshevism”

Later, on page 11 of the document, they indicate their active presence in “semi-Marxist circles”, likely nodding to “democratic socialists” and further, toward their intent to exploit well-intentioned social discontent.

“Maoism is the Marxism of our era”

Pages 12 and 13 continued into more specific intentions of social agitation and moral support for supporters specifically, a clear indicator of the popular “useful idiot” trope — also specifically targeting what can be assumed to be the “democratic socialist” movement.”

d) Agitation and Propaganda

Few words are needed to explain the content of the group’s agitation and propaganda focus, again being placed squarely on what are assumed to be the various “democratic socialist” movements.

Shanghai

MCU has also been in contact with an unnamed figure in Shanghai on a couple of occasions, both self-reported through their WordPress website34.

Importantly, the Washington Examiner reported on the activism of a billionaire Maoist named Neville Roy Singham who is based in Shanghai5 (if paywalled, other news aggregators like MSN have carried their story).

Singham’s efforts have been central to recent Charlotte counter-culture organizing efforts, using simple social media posts to spread the word organically through the Instagram account “pslcharlotte.”

Watershed moment at 2101 Shenandoah

Purchased on August 16, 2017, head pastor Matt O’Neil was the signatory on the deed for the old Queen City Montessori, who was previously the occupant of 2101 Shenandoah Ave. in Charlotte, NC.

O’Neil’s recent public Facebook posts6 are a stream of anti-ICE sentiments, complete with tutorials for drawing attention to officers to try to capture incriminating evidence7, and even attended a large, organized anti-ICE protest just last week.

A Torrent of Success

On June 18, 2017, Torrent Consulting founder and Liberty University graduate Daniel McCullum sat down for a talk at Watershed Charlotte with Pastor Scott Miller8.

Two months later, Watershed Charlotte was liable to HomeTrust Bank for $1.26 million beginning August 17, 2017 (exactly 30 weeks after President Donald Trump’s first inauguration)9.

As a nonprofit religious organization, the IRS does not require taxes on exempt (religious-based) activities. Explicitly overt political activity is generally not exempt, and direct engagement with political campaigns is expressly forbidden.

On January 6th, 2021, Watershed received another loan against the 2101 Shenandoah property10, indicating a possible refinancing and/or strong financial bottom line for the church.

According to public IRS documents, Watershed has received tens of thousands of dollars from the Bank of American Charitable Foundation since at least 2019, and in 2021, received $15,000 from National Philanthropic Trust11.

International ties

Both Torrent Consulting and Watershed work with EducateBV, an education nonprofit in Guatemala12, and with various arms of other efforts touching India.

EducateBV is part of a wider mission called DeepStream Ministries, following the water-oriented theme of these groups. DeepStream’s namesake with similar branding (side-profile of a rhinoceros) also operates construction businesses in the States.

All in the family

More important overlap to note, since essentially Torrent Consulting’s Charlotte founding until now, the wife of Watershed’s “Pastor of Justice” has been an employee of Torrent Consulting.

An early 2012 post to the Watershed Charlotte website points out that the Pastor of Justice has know the founder of the church since 2001 from another church in Michigan13.

The post also mentions that the couple had lots of jobs, moved a lot, and lived in college dorms early on in their marriage. This will become relevant soon.

Matt O’Neil and Hofert met while working together14 for a Virginia-based humanitarian organization called World Help.

O’Neil lists “World Help” in his public past work experiences on Facebook. World Help is a long-time partner of neighboring Liberty University, providing a clear link between most of the foundation of Watershed Charlotte, but perhaps most importantly, Torrent Consulting co-founder Daniel McCullum.

These organizations are endlessly valuable resources to the U.S. Intelligence Community.

The watershed’s tributaries

Torrent Founder Philip G. Brabbs is a former University of Michigan place kicker, former resident of Charlotte, and the Managing Director of the Business+Tech Team at the University of Michigan in the Ross School of Business15.

He graduated U-M in 2002.

U-M is a communist’s playground

The Stephen M. Ross School of Business brings this story full circle into a breeding ground for corruption that DARPA, IARPA, and the C.I.A. have leveraged for years — the University of Michigan.

With U-M’s Center for Chinese Studies, the university has maintained an open door with the Communist Party of China for many years, while also linking Michigan’s public universities with each other for purposes of furthering Chinese culture.

Ross School of risky business

Scholars at the Center for Chinese Studies have been part of Chinese programs that have been proven vectors of espionage, with students regularly cycling through the school.

Also through Miami Dolphins owner, Stephen M. Ross, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s husband has raked in millions, presumably illegally during his time with the Detroit City Council, though no charges have been filed to-date.

Benson also supported the 2004 Democratic Socialists of America by giving a seminar at one of their events.

Revisiting Shanghai

The Maoist Communist Union mentioned being in contact with revolutionaries in Shanghai, which also provides overlap with both the economic and political espionage emanating from Shanghai, specifically, through universities.

The University of Michigan was recently forced to shutter its partnership with Shanghai Jiao Tong University as a national security risk16, but a major detail to recall is Hunter Biden’s business dealings that were based in Shanghai.

Shanghai, the C.I.A., and the C.C.P.

Shanghai serves as a clearing house for intelligence that the C.I.A. and C.C.P. have together manipulated for three decades to build the networks of billionaires linking Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, New York, and Silicon Valley, often times through offshore holding funds, reminiscent of Jeffrey Epstein’s activities.

By examining obvious patterns in open-sourced information, the C.I.A. serves (or abuses) its purpose through Fudan University’s long-standing partnership with all ten University of California schools called the Fudan-UC Center, hosted by the University of California at San Diego (UCSD).

The center was the culmination of USAID (notoriously a fund for U.S.-allied intelligence services) funding dating back to 1997 through the American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (ASHA) initiative that was sent to the Center for American Studies at Fudan University in Shanghai17.

Religious groups and political activism

Interesting to note of Watershed’s Form 990 disclosures is that all of the church leadership reported weekly work hours, but listed $0 compensation for all in 2022 in Part VII, Section A. Officers, Directors, Trustees, Key Employees, and Highest Compensated Employees18.

This would also coincidentally be the first full fiscal year with their new treasurer — an individual who has posted to Facebook multiple indications of their collaboration with political parties.

However, in Part IX, Section 5A, the church reported $214,401 in total compensation for the year19.

According to Watershed’s Form 990s, they claim that at least 85% of the activity that occurs on their mortgaged property to be tax-exempt activities.

This draws their tax-exempt status into question when evaluating their brand of “Justice ministry” that outwardly manifests itself as political activism when cued by high-profile leaders within one, exclusive political party — and for overtly political purposes.

“Unrelated Business Income” is typically required to be reported when it totals over $1,000, and a single 4-hour block rental at Watershed is currently priced at $65020.

Booking only two of these purely political meetings would satisfy that threshold.

Has the Watershed released a Torrent of Maoism into the DeepStream of American politics through the C.I.A.?

Watershed Charlotte isn’t the only church meddling with a brand of communism through their “social justice” programs. Look no further than their own “Liberation Partners” to find Bishop Tonyia Rawls21.

Rawls is a faith leader, social justice activist, and founder of several organizations like the Freedom Center for Social Justice in Charlotte, Unity Fellowship Church Charlotte, and Sacred Souls Community Church.

Her work focuses on LGBTQ+ rights, particularly in faith communities and the Southeastern U.S. Rawls has been a leader within the Moral Monday movement in Charlotte. Moral Mondays are an effort by Yale theologian Bishop William J. Barber, II.

First Baptist Church-West, who also participates in Moral Mondays (just this past November 24th), is part of the North Carolina Council of Churches of Christ, which Rawls was a part of the governing board for two terms between 2011 and 201322.

Neville Roy Singham’s Maoist-centered Party for Socialism and Liberation’s efforts within the “social justice” world23 often contribute to Charlotte’s church-led mobilization by helping organize.

November 26th wasn’t Maoist Communist Union’s first meeting at Watershed, indicated on Instagram by a screening of a communist classic film.

This second engagement means that MCU has likely paid Watershed over the $1,000 “unrelated business income” threshold for exempt religious organizations.

Political violence is rarely organic

When the C.I.A.’s Elissa Slotkin, and Rep. Maggie Goodlander, the wife of a Democrat icon who are together involved in the C.I.A.’s most apparent collusion with American adversaries2425...

When these people take to social media telling the public to resist the administration, it’s not necessarily only a message to OUR military...

It’s more of a message to their former colleagues and our adversaries’ militaries.

Communist political parties are still illegal in the United States until otherwise legislated by Congress. The House just passed a resolution against socialism on November 21st.

Perhaps this is why the C.I.A. works with the Communists — to give themselves a legal basis to spy on communists living within the United States...
